North Stars games rained out

Havre to host American Legion Jamboree this weekend

This late into spring, the weather doesn’t typically alter the local sports schedules. But in Montana anything is possible when it comes to unwelcome weather, and days, and inches, of unwelcome rain has already made its mark.

Friday, the Havre North Stars American Legion baseball team was forced to cancel two games against Great Falls. And Sunday’s doubleheader against the divisional rival Medicine Hat was barely squeezed in between thunder and lightning storms at Legion Field. But with nonstop rain since Sunday afternoon, the North Stars were hit with yet another day of canceled baseball. This time the North Stars were slated to face Tri-County in Conrad in another divisional doubleheader Monday, but those games have been postponed.

No makeup date against Tri-County has been set as of press time today.

According to http://www.weather.com, sunnier conditions are expected to roll into the area today, and stick around for a bit, just in time for several more games scheduled to be played in Havre.

Sun is expected through the rest of the week. The North Stars have yet to reschedule the canceled games against the Great Falls Bolts and Tri-County, and have four more games scheduled for this weekend, as Havre hosts the Havre Jamboree at Legion Field.

Friday the North Stars will face Strathmore at 7:15 p.m. And Saturday, the North Stars will face Swift Current at 7:15 p.m., followed by Calgary at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, the North Stars will wrap their weekend up with a final game against Glasgow at 2:45 p.m.
