Local Golf Report: Great day for Natalie Patrick scramble

From Tee to Green

The golf week started off with more bad weather, but it sure ended on a good note.

Saturday, the tournament season at Prairie Farms kicked into high gear with the annual Natalie Patrick Foundation Scramble at Prairie Farms. The tournament, which is a four-person, 18-hole scramble, had a full field of over 96 players and was played under sunny, warm and breezy conditions on a challenging Prairie Farms layout.

As usual, a good time was had by all. The Natalie Patrick Foundation raises money for several great, local causes. The team of Jeff Jensen, Jeremy Jensen, Justin Jensen and Eric Fee were crowned champions.

The tournament slate at Prairie Farms continues Saturday with the annual NLASF Scramble.

Though the weather cooperated for the Natalie Patrick, the week started off rough for area golfers.

Only last Tuesday night’s men’s league at Prairie Farms got through a full nine holes. Patrick Construction, comprised of Tom Patrick, Brett Patrick, Ken Wagner and Tim Callahan scored 22.5 points to take high-team honors. Mike Peterson shot an even-par 36 to earn low gross, while Brett Patrick was low net with a 28.

Last Wednesday night saw men’s league end with one or two holes still remaining due to a severe thunderstorm that ripped through the Havre area. Ladies league Thursday night was also completely rained out.

Last week marked the start of the second half of the men’s league season at Prairie Farms. In the first half of Tuesday night league, Wagner Plumbing finished first with 138.5 points. Korb Construction was second, Patrick Construction was third and Hole 19 was fourth. Those four teams are now locked into playoff spots. On Wednesday night league, D.A. Davidson finished first with 126 points. Master Sports was second, followed by Bear Paw Credit Union and Michelob Light. Those four teams are also locked into playoff spots.

A reminder: There is still time for ladies to sign up for the annual Havre Women Fighting Breast Cancer Tournament, which will be held June 29 at Prairie Farms. People can sign up by contacting Julie Mariani at 265-6121.
