Betty (Passon) Fisk Shropshire, 70, formerly of Havre, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in Broomfield, Colo., of natural causes. Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with Tim Maroney officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Betty was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Havre, to Adolph and Inez (Adamson) Passon. She was raised in Havre, attending school there. Following her school years, she married Lawrence Fisk, and their union was blessed with five children. The couple later divorced, and Betty later married Mick Shropshire. She worked as a desk clerk at the Havre Hotel until it was destroyed by fire, and then for the Park Hotel in Havre. She also worked as a dispatcher for the Havre Police Department. She moved to Denver in 1978, where she managed several gas stations over the years.
Betty enjoyed playing bingo and loved to read, especially Nora Roberts, Danielle Steele, and James Patterson. She also liked to watch TV, and her favorite show was “Big Brother.” Betty was also very involved with the DAV Auxilliary in Denver, as she involved herself with any project that helped veterans.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph Passon and Inez Passon Rodgers.
She is survived by her husband Mick Shropshire of Broomfield, Colo .; her five children, Lora Hanson of Havre, Gayle (Mike) Lehman of Fort Benton, Ed Fisk (Colter Collins) and Sonny Fisk, all of Denver, Colo., and Bill (Shelli) Fisk of Havre; her sister Carol Upshaw of Chinook; her brother Jim Passon of Havre; her 11 grandchildren; and her 4 great-grandchildren.
