Elizabeth was born on Sept. 19, 1921, at Spring Lake, near Dore, N.D., to David and Frances (Kanarr) Rang. She was raised on a farm outside Dore, attending school there. During World War II, she worked at McDonald-Douglas Aircraft in California, assembling the center section of the C47 cargo planes. Upon her return to Montana, she met James Schubring while he was in the Fairview area working for Morris Knudsen, and the couple married in February 1945 in Sidney.
The couple’s union was blessed with four children, and they raised their children, farming north of Fairview at Nolley for many years. Elizabeth moved to Havre in 1959, and she worked for many years at the post office as a custodian. She enjoyed working on crafts, flower gardening, needlepoint, sewing and collecting Avon and antiques. She was a very hard-working, strong-willed woman with a good sense of humor who loved going to garage sales. However, her family was her life.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James, in 1962; her parents, David Rang and Frances Rang Sullivan; her sisters, Pearl Lewis, Helen Gilman and Rose Lewis; and her brothers, Frank and Louis Rang.
She is survived by her two daughters, Gale (David) Ramberg of Spearfish, S.D., and Barbara Evilsizer of Helena, Mont .; her two sons, Douglas (Caroline) Schubring of Snohomish, Wash., and Dennis (Mary) Schubring of Havre; her seven grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; her two brothers, Ted Sullivan and Floyd Sullivan of Fairview, Mont .; and numerous nieces and nephews.
