Northern Provost leaves abruptly

College silent on reasons for departure

Rosalyn Templeton, Montana State University-Northern’s provost and vice chancellor, left her position prematurely early Monday morning.

Templeton, who put in her notice of resignation late August, was planning to vacate her position Jan. 3.

In an email sent to staff Monday, Limbaugh gave no reason for her sudden departure.

“No interim provost will be named; rather, Academic Affairs will be managed for the remainder of the semester via a tripartite structure of Dean Greg Kegel, Dean Christine Shearer-Cremean, and myself.

“The national search for

the provost is proceeding, with telephone interviews being scheduled within the next several days. We are still planning to have the position filled by our preferred date of January 2, 2014.”

Potter, the director of university relations, refused to comment about the sudden change of plan, citing personnel policy.

Whether she will continue to receive pay until January is not known.

The Havre Daily News has served a Freedom of Information request today to Limbaugh to request the information regarding Templeton’s early departure be made available to the public.

The newspaper contends that the right of the public to know about Templeton’s sudden departure outweighs her right to privacy.

Willy, are you hurt? Do you need a whaamulance? All I have to add is nah-nah-nah-nah, hey-hey-hey, goodbye!

Leave her alone, she is leaving. Big Jim probably told her to leave.
