James G. Bliss

BOW, N.H. - James G. Bliss, 65, of Bow passed away Oct. 19, 2013, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Helena, Mont. on Oct. 11, 1948, the son of Inga (Blockus) Bliss and raised in Gildford, Mont. He was a graduate of Gildford High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam and was later stationed at The Army Recruiting Station in Manchester.

James met his future wife Elaine Guimond while stationed in Manchester. They were wed and shared 43 years of marriage.

He was employed

by the U.S. Postal Service and was active with various veterans organizations. He enjoyed traveling with his wife. He cherished his family and was very involved with his grandchildren and their sporting events.

Family members include his wife, Elaine Bliss of Bow; a daughter, Sheli Bliss of Manchester; a son, Kenneth Bliss of Bow; a granddaughter, Saara Bliss of Bow; a grandson, Andrew Bliss of Bow; and a sister, Susan Bliss of Ogden, Utah. He was predeceased by a brother Jerry Bliss.

Funeral services were held in Manchester N.H. on Oct. 23, 2013. Interment with full military honors was in the N.H. Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen., N.H.
