Howard Ray Evanson

Howard Ray "Weezie" Evanson, 83, passed away of natural causes on Nov. 14, 2013, at his home in Havre, Mont., with his wife of 53 years, Cecile, by his side. 

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church with Father Pete Guthneck officiating.

Howard was born April 22, 1930, in Havre, to Olaf Evanson and Josephine Spooner. He was raised in Havre where he met and married Cecile Flamand on June 3, 1960. Weezie worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for over 40 years. He spent his retirement enjoying the great outdoors hunting and fishing with Cecile, the love of his life. Most every day they took drives around Havre and out to the Bear Paw Mountains. Weezie and Cecile also enjoyed camping with friends, nieces and nephews. Weezie and Cecile were known to treat everyone with their specialty, Indian fry bread.

Weezie was preceded in death by his mother and father, Olaf and Josephine; his brothers, Bert and Lloyd; his sisters, Florence Helmbrecht and Isabel Helmbrecht; his nephews, Lee Daulton and Bobby Hinkle; and his niece Joanie Howieson Lotton.

He is survived by his wife Cecile; nieces Bobbie (Don) Wolf  of Great Falls, Mont., Darlene (Denny) Ulmen of  Havre, and Kathy (Harold) Nelson of Missoula, Mont .; nephews, Chuck (Brenda) Daulton, Cal (Joan) Daulton, and David Helmbrecht, all of Havre; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Weezie will be greatly missed by all.
