Hi-Line Darts & Laurels

Laurel — The H. Earl Clack Museum will, in the long run, be moving to a downtown Havre location, the building where Griggs Printing is now. This will be good for a variety of reasons. It is closer to U.S Highway 2, so more tourists may be prompted to visit the museum. It will be much larger, so there will be room for storage and more display space. The museum will have a class facility to show off the area’s rich history. Congrats to the foundation for working hard to raise the money for the museum.

Laurel — Nineteen-year-old Chontay Standing Rock has a tremendous voice and a great knowledge of Native American music. He has added his own touch, with English words and a theme of love and friendship. MontanaPBS highlighted the Stone Child College student and the music he performs. His influence and his message are exactly what Rocky Boy needs during its present time of trouble.

Laurel — Chinook is a Hi-Line town that believes in community celebrations so people can enjoy the holiday together, The Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its annual Christmas activities today. The Christmas Stroll, the Festival of Trees and the Grand Parade of Lights take place in downtown Chinook. The event is always a fun-fest for residents and visitors. Drop in and enjoy the fun and fellowship.

Laurel — Havre Jaycees are running their annual Toys for Tots and Koats for Kids programs. Jaycees provide a variety of community services throughout the year, but this is one of the most important. Containers for toy drop-offs are available in several locations around town where people are free to drop off coats that young people can wear. Coats also can be left at Havre Laundry and Dry Cleaners on 1st Street in Havre.

Laurel — Bullhook Bottoms Barbershop Chorus performed a concert of good, old-fashioned music last week at Fifth Avenue Christian Church. It was good to see that young people have joined the chorus. Hopefully that means this style of music will prevail into future generations.
