Local Bowling Report: Harlem's Ival Jackson wins tough Hi-Line Lanes Challenge Tournament

Ten Pin Chatter

The Hi-Line Lanes Challenge Tournament has completed another chapter, as 24 keglers took to the lanes on Saturday.

Bowlers from Browning, Shelby, Great Falls, Big Sandy, Harlem and Havre were competing for the top spot, or “King of the Hi-Line,” so to speak. Claiming that honor once again was Ival Jackson from Harlem, as he endured the same tough lane conditions. All bowlers were encountering different lane conditions as they moved from lane to lane. Just missing the step-ladder was Julie Rodgers who was one of two female keglers, the other was Donna Tilleman who bowled respectably also.

Those advancing to the step-ladder were, Shawn Mariani, Kyle Surber, Brian Christianson, J. T. Davis and Ival Jackson. The first match saw Kyle Surber defeating Mariani 231-203; the next match was Kyle taking on a seasoned veteran from Great Falls, Brian Christianson. Brian was the victor 226-197. Next in line was J. T. Davis and Brian. Brian defeated J.T. 197-138. In the championship, Jackson defeated Brian by 3 sticks, 201-198.

Hi-Line Lanes would like to thank everyone who participated in the event, and we are looking to implement some changes next year to better the tournament.

Jackpot sign-up for New Year’s Eve is now available. Call the lanes to get your spot. Must be 21 to participate.

Youth bowling will resume this Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Bowlers may still sign up.
