Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Molly Herron, Big Sandy Girls Basketball

Big Sandy’s Molly Herron is a girls basketball veteran. A senior, she’s started all four years of her career for the Pioneers, and she’s going out strong. Last weekend, Herron scored 20 points in a win over Hobson and added another 18 points and three 3-pointers in Big Sandy’s narrow loss to 9C rival Chinook. Herron has been on a scoring tear after Christmas break. Since Jan. 1, she’s averaged 15 points per game. Herron is also a volleyball standout and has been an excellent runner for the Big Sandy track team as well.

Zach Molyneaux, Chinook Boys Basketball

Chinook senior Zach Molyneaux is making the most of his last basketball season with the Sugarbeeters. Molyneaux was an offensive force for Chinook in three crucial 9C wins this past weekend. In an upset of Hays-Lodge Pole Thursday night, Molyneaux nailed three 3-pointers and scored 27 points, while he also scored 23 Saturday against Turner. For good measure, Molyneaux added 14 in a Friday win over Big Sandy. The multi-sport standout is headed to Rocky Mountain College to play football next fall.
