Nurse pinning marks students' journeys

The Havre Nurses Pinning Ceremony and Reception marked a new stage in the beginnings of the nursing student's careers.

Montana State University-Northern Chancellor James Limbaugh spoke to those gathered at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church about the paths the nursing students had chosen in which they would aid the infirm and dedicate their careers to helping others continue their lives.

"I can think of no higher dedication," Limbaugh said. "I can think of no higher calling."

Nursing Club President Christina Bradbury gave a heart-felt thank-you to all those who supported and believed in the nursing students of MSU-Northern.

"We are a class of doers - a class of advocates," Bradbury said. " ... This is not an ordinary class of students."

Each nurse graduating in the 2014 class wrote their gratitudes and praise for their supporters, which Brigit Hemmer read as family members and friends placed the nurses' medals over their heads and received a rose in return.
