MSU-N's Mack sits in eight place at CNFR

Montana State University-Northern senior Charlie Mack is having quite the time at the 2014 College National Finals Rodeo.

Through three rounds of competition Mack sits eighth in the bareback riding at the CNFR, which runs through Saturday night in Casper, Wyoming.

Mack scored a 65 in the first round of the CNFR Tuesday, then followed that up with a 62 in the second round and a 63.5 in the third round Wednesday night. Mack has one performance left, and if he remains inside the Top 12, he will qualify for Saturday night’s championship go-around.

Mack finished third in the Big Sky Region standings in the bareback riding for the 2013-14 season, qualifying him for his second straight CNFR. As a junior, Mack participated in the bull riding at the CNFR. He’s also been a consistent rider on the Montana Northern Rodeo Association circuit the last few summers, and will return to NRA and PRCA competition following the CNFR.
