Havre Police Department

Officers investigated a 7:11 a.m. Tuesday call from a 5th Avenue business about a business that had been broken into during the night.

Officers investigated an 11:02 a.m. Tuesday call from 5th Avenue about the calling party’s son’s apartment being broken into and the door and door frame being broken.

Officers investigated an 8:32 p.m. Tuesday call from the walking trail across from Highland Park about a found Colorado ID.

Officers investigated a 9:23 p.m. Tuesday call from a 1st Street West business about a vehicular hit and run by a white pickup truck driven by a man in his 20s with blonde hair and a beard.

Joshua Keith Thayer, 22, of Havre was arrested on charges of speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia after an officer made a motor vehicle stop at 1:35 a.m. this morning on 13th Street West.

Hill County Sheriff’s Office

Deputies investigated a 2:21 p.m. Tuesday call from a U.S. Highway 2 business about shoplifting.

Deputies investigated a 3:37 p.m. Tuesday call from Roller Coaster Road about someone going through the calling party’s fence.

Two people were arrested after deputies responded to a 9:52 p.m. Tuesday call from U.S. Highway 2, mile marker 365. No other information was given.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to one call Tuesday and one this morning.

Firefighters were called to the 800 Block of 1st Avenue at 4:11 p.m. Tuesday to put out a fire that was smoldering in the attic. Initial investigation is pointing to electrical malfunction that caused smoldering in rafter insulation.

Firefighters were called to five miles east of Havre on U.S. Highway 2 at 10:19 p.m. Tuesday to put out a vehicle fire. The fire was in the engine compartment of the vehicle; firefighters were unsure of the cause of the fire.
