Anna Pauline Pfeifer

Anna Pauline Pfeifer died Oct. 13, 2013.

A private family memorial service was held for Anna Pauline Pfeifer at Highland Cemetery in Havre on July 28, 2014.

Anna passed away October 13, 2013, at Pondera Medical Center Extended Care in Conrad, Montana.

Anna was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Cooley, Minnesota, to Anna and Cornelius Olson. She was raised in North Dakota and Jordan, Montana. Anna married Walter J. Pfeifer in 1930, and they moved from Jordan to Havre in 1939.

Anna was a devoted mother and homemaker. She loved sewing and decorating. Holiday dinners were her pride and joy.

After Walter’s passing in 1955, she worked as a baby-sitter for many of the town’s professionals. She became known as “Mother Havre.”

Anna was a great help to family members who were recovering from illness or injury, namely daughter Shirley, who was in a serious auto accident in 1965.

She loved spending time with her family. She was an avid reader and lived by the credo that “cleanliness is next to godliness”. Anna was independent and full of spunk.

Anna is survived by her daughters, Marlene Robertson of Denver, Colorado, Shirley Lohse of Conrad, Montana, and Teri Cole of Cascade, Montana; her son, Monty Ray Pfeifer, of Arlington, Washington; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grand-children.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, parents and twelve siblings.
