4-H sets Festival Days Chuckwagon fundraiser

Great Northern Fair Board member and long-time Hill County 4-H’er Alma Seidel said at the monthly fair board meeting Monday that the organization will be holding a fundraiser spaghetti feed during Festival Days.

Hill County 4-H is moving forward with plans to build a new Chuckwagon at the fairgrounds, which would continue to be used for 4-H concessions including during the fair but would also provide a space for additional 4-H — and other community — activities.

The spaghetti dinner will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday during Festival Days, with free-will donations going toward the fundraising to build the new Chuckwagon.

4-H also will have the Chuckwagon mascot, Willard — a large iron piggy bank created by Willard Vaughn — in the Festival Days parade and will be handing out “Chuckwagon Challenge” brochures.
