International crash occurs at Wild Horse

An allegedly drunken driver Friday crashed his car through a closed gate, entered a counter-clockwise rotation and went into the ditch on the east edge of the roadway where it collided with a highway sign.

The unusual thing is that the accident started in Canada and ended up in the United States.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police charged Clinton Timmons, 36, of Lethbridge, Alberta with driving under the influence, careless driving and driving with an expired registration.

Montana Highway Patrol officers, who also investigated, said was headed south of Canadian Highway 421 when he crashed into the gate on the Canadian side of the border.

The car was seriously damaged but Timmons was was not injured.
