Winter weather strikes again, sun to follow

Havre is under a winter weather advisory until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

A band of precipitation is pushing through Montana and Liberty, Hill and Blaine counties are receiving much of the blow of it today.

“The winter weather advisory, at this time, we probably will allow to go to tomorrow morning,” said Gina Loff, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Great Falls. “I anticipate that after midnight, we won’t see this activity. We should expect improved conditions tomorrow.”

Loff said Havre can expect a potential of one to two inches of snow as the precipitation moves past the area, but that could possibly be just in snow-favored areas.

This evening, there is an 80 percent chance of precipitation that fades to 60 percent as midnight and the morning hours go by. Things are supposed to clear up by Tuesday night.

Wednesday is slated for partly sunny skies leading into two days of clear skies.

Today’s high is 36 degrees, which jumps into the 40s for Tuesday and Wednesday, 50s Thursday and 60s Friday.
