Cleaning up the town

A small crowd gathered at Town Square in downtown Havre Saturday morning with equipment in hand to spruce up 1st Street.

They were from AmeriCorps, the nationwide group. AmeriCorps sends it members to communities where they can be of help. Five of the 75,0000 service members are in Havre, working with community organizations and Montana State University-Northern.

Mayor Tim Solomon said AmeriCorps service members came to him asking if the city needed any projects done that their members could help with.
