Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Jake Sedahl, Havre Tennis

The spring sports season has just begun, but already, Havre High junior tennis player Jake Sedahl is making quite the impression. In his first two meets of the season, Sedahl is 5-0 in doubles, while playing with multiple partners. Sedahl and fellow junior Trey Hanson won the Cut Bank Invite title two weeks ago, while Sedahl won matches for Havre with Jeff Miller, Kennedy McKay and Jack Johnsrud at last Saturday's Conrad Invite. Sedahl, who plays three sports at HHS, was an All-Conference singles player for the Ponies last year.

Loni Waid, Havre Track

The Havre High track and field teams have been routinely strong in the pole vault over the years, thanks to the excellent coaching of Andy Smith. So, in the season-opening Central Montana Meet in Lewistown last Saturday, it was no surprise the Ponies swept the pole vault titles. And on the girls side HHS' Loni Waid was outstanding, clearing 8-1 to edge a Lewistown rival for the title. Waid, whose family have all been excellent pole vaulters, was also one of three HHS girls to place in the vault in Lewistown.
