People have ways to save and win during Havre's Festival Days celebration, with both collectors mugs and pins on sale now.

More than 40 Havre Area Chamber of Commerce member businesses are selling a total of 1,000 collector buttons celebrating the 36th Havre Festival Days. The theme this year centers around celebrating the community and the annual celebration of Festival Days.

The buttons are numbered consecutively from 1 to 1,000 and sell for $1. Some participating businesses are offering discounts to people wearing a Festival Days button.

The Chamber will draw six winning numbers a day Monday through Friday, with special drawings Friday. One drawing will find the winner of a BoPlay S3 Bluetooth speaker compliments of Triangle Communications/Triangle Mobile Service, and another the winner of round-trip tickets to Billings offered by Cape Air.

People with the winning numbers in the daily drawings will win a Chamber gift certificate in varying denominations or a Festival Days commemorative mug.

To claim their prize, people can stop by the Chamber office with their winning button.

Winning numbers will be announced in the Havre Daily News and on the radio the week of Festival Days.

The Chamber is urging people to get their buttons quickly, as a limited number is available. For people who collect Festival Days Buttons, their numbers have been set aside and can be picked up at the Chamber office.

The 2016 Commemorative Festival Days Mugs also are on sale.

The mugs will sell for $6 at Murphy's Pub, Dairy Queen, PJ's Restaurant and Casino, Vic's Place, McLean's Grocery, Tortilla Junction and Yummy Foods, the Golden Spike, Crystal City Casino, Hi-Line Gold Casino, Tip-It Bar and the Eagles Club.

At participating taverns, mugs may be purchased for $6 and refills of tap beers are $1 starting Friday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. through Sunday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m.

Festival Days mugs have been featured during the celebration for 29 years. The commemorative mugs first became a part of Festival Days in 1987 with the support of the Tavern Association, during the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the Empire Builder during Festival Days that year

The mugs continue to be a part of the weekend celebration because of the continued support received from the businesses that participate each year.
