New spa in Holiday Village holds grand opening

The new owner of a spa at the Holiday Village Mall in Havre held an open house Friday where he served up refreshments and mingled with visitors.

People were also able to enter their names in a drawing throughout the day for several prizes.

"If Havre didn't have it before they do now," said Harold Whitford Jr., owner of HM Salon & Spa, about the range of cosmetic services his business offers.

Whitford said he has always wanted to go into cosmetology, in part because he likes to make people feel good.

The services his business offers include haircuts and styling, hair extensions, manicures, pedicures, hair extensions and waxing.

Whitford said HM is also equipped with an oxygen bar and tanning beds. He also sells lotions and as oils needed for aromatherapy.  

A graduate of the Montana Academy of Salons in Great Falls who is certified in both makeup and eyelashes, Whitford said he leased the spot and officially opened the spa Aug. 1. He said that he has six employees including a nail technician and a massage therapist.

HM's hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m to 6 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
