Obituary: Raymond Lyman Miller

Raymond Lyman Miller of Frontier, Saskatchewan, and Havre, Montana, 66, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Northern Montana Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church at 701 4th Ave., Havre, Montana, with Pastor John Bruington officiating. Interment will take place at Frontier Municipal Cemetery in Frontier, Saskatchewan.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Raymond was born on June 9, 1950, in Frontier, Saskatchewan, the son of Thomas and Leona (Billie) Miller. He married Margaret Giesen Miller in 1994.

Raymond was a kind, passionate and loving man with a zest for life. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and would often share stories of their accomplishments. He loved participating in all sports but his first love was hockey, in which he continued to play as a goaltender competitively in many associations until he was 38.

Raymond learned to appreciate music at a very young age starting with performing with his brother. His passion for music and performing continued throughout his life.

Raymond enjoyed farming, which he did until his passing, in the hamlet of Loomis, Saskatchewan. He farmed organically for the past 38 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.

Raymond is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Devan) Erickson and their three children Draven, Reese and Paige of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, and Lauren and Adrienne of Havre; his beloved wife, Margaret; and his brother, Reed (Caroline) of Frontier, Saskatchewan and their descendants.
