Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Jace Shambo, HLP Basketball

Hays-Lodge Pole didn’t quite get the state championship it was looking for, but the T-birds fourth-place finish at the Class C state tourney this past weekend in Bozeman was helped by the excellent play of Jace Shambo. In his final two games, Shambo scored 23 and 21 points, respectively, and over the course of the 9C, Northern C and State C tournaments, Shambo averaged 15 points and eight rebounds per game. He also helped the T-Birds to their best season in a decade.

Ceyara Plante, Havre High Basketball

Havre High senior Ceyera Plante has seen it all when it comes to high school basketball. A member of the Blue Ponies for four years, and a three-year starter for head coach Dustin Kraske, Plante has had a lot of success over the years. And she saved her best for last, as she averaged 10 points per game during her final season, a season in which the Ponies went unbeaten in the Central A and made it back to the state tournament. Plante was also named Central A All-Conference.
