Hello God, it's me, Mara

Because I live

You know, Lord, many years ago Billy Graham wrote how all-important the resurrection is for each one’s own personal Christianity. He went on to quote the Swiss theologian, Karl Barth who said, “Do you want to believe in the living Christ? We may believe in Him only if we believe in His corporeal resurrection. This is the content of the New Testament. We are always free to reject it, but not to modify it, nor to pretend that the New Testament tells something else. We may accept or refuse the message, but we may not change it.”

Billy Graham also said, “Christianity as a system of truth collapses if the resurrection is rejected.” He added that Your rising from the dead, Lord Jesus, is one to the foundation stones of our faith.

We know, Lord, that without You, we just seem to be torn between two urges. Our human nature wants us to turn “this way,” while our conscience urges us to do the right thing.  In another article, it was mentioned that medical professionals have thought that maybe that inner conflict has something to do with physical breakdowns and nervous collapse. How very interesting that “they” mentioned that, among a host of other things, maybe the common cold might be caused by stress and inner conflict, etc. That was an interesting thought, too.

No matter the time of year, oh Lord, help us live today knowing that You know what is what — that You care and love each one of us so very much — that You are alive! We thank You Lord, that You love us so very much that You tasted death for every one of us which means that You took our punishment and erased our guilt. We read in John 14:19, “Because I live, ye shall live also.” Thank You, Lord!

Love, Mara
