Obituary - Frank E. Witter

Frank E. Witter, formerly of Havre, 75, passed away on April 11, 2017. He was born March 24, 1942, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, to Frank and Gail Witter.

A memorial service will be held June 8, 11 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Havre, Montana. A celebration of life service will be held at Glacier Bible Camp in Hungry Horse, Montana, June 11 at 6 p.m.

Frank graduated from Chambersburg High School, served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1969 and graduated from Northern Montana College in 1973.

He married Zella (Bradbury) in 1965 in Havre, Montana. Frank taught school and coached in Roundup, Winnett and Harlem. He worked at District 4 HRDC as Head Start Director for 27 years.

Frank had a love of sports, coaching football, basketball and baseball. He was instrumental in starting Special Olympics basketball in Havre. He loved fishing, camping and backpacking.

Frank was a true man of faith. He loved God, family and friends with all his heart. He taught many Bible studies and served on church boards and Glacier Bible Camp board of directors.

After retirement in 2011, a trip to Alaska and all around the U.S., he then retired to six months in Hungry Horse and six months in Yuma, Arizona.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Zella; son, Randy (Tracy); grandchildren, Mikayla and Andrew of Helena; sisters, Margaret Davis of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and Joyce (Harry) Cummings of Woodbridge, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
