Dakoda-Crow Bucking Horse Gray Boy, "Never Slips," of Rocky Boy, 16, died Friday, June 9, 2017, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Wake services began Friday, June 9, 2018, at the Kenneth Writing Bird residence on Bitterroot Road. His funeral services are in Crow Agency today, Monday, June 12, 2017.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Dakoda-Crow was born Nov.r 16, 2000, in Havre to Reese M. Gray Boy Sr. and Berna Medicine Top. He was raised in Harlem, Crow Agency and Rocky Boy, attending Harlem Elementary and high schools and Rocky Boy High School.

Dakoda-Crow was an outgoing teenager who loved to joke and tease. He had a large circle of good friends, including Kordell Small and Cauy Johnson, with whom he spent a great deal of time. He loved basketball, football and powwows, and video games and Facebook were favorite pastimes. He traveled a lot with his uncles and his cousin/brothers, spending time with them and attending powwows. He was so proud of being selected as a varsity player for the Rocky Boy Stars this past year.

Dakoda-Crow was preceded in death by his mother, Berna Medicine Top; his grandparents Charles Gray Boy Sr. and Carolyn (Writing Bird) Gray; his stepsister Janika Doney; his aunts Kari Medicine Top and Jana Gray Boy; and his uncles Allen Don Medicine Top and Lyndon Gray.

He is survived by his father, Reese Gray Boy Sr .; his sisters, Tristin Gray Boy, Sammi Jo Gray Boy, Nakota Gray Boy, Jacina Doney, Marian Knight; his brother, Reese Gray Boy Jr .; his adopted sister, Alice Gray Boy; his adopted brother, Christopher Strike; his grandparents, Kenneth and Lorena Writing Bird and Geraldine Rutherford, and Pearl and Ed Whitford; his Crow grandparents, Lois Crooked Arm and Emmet Medicine Top; his aunties and uncles Charles (Pearl) Gray Boy Jr., Curtis Gray, Wesley (Lanette) Gray Boy, Marvin (Lee) Gray Boy, Edith (Nolan) Gray, Rose Esparza, Jason (Jackie) Belcourt, Tara Medicine Top, Gazena Howe and Mikel Decrane; and numerous cousins, including the Little Light, Crooked Arms and Rides the Horse families on the Northern Cheyenne, Crow, Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy reservations. He is also survived by his large circle of good friends who are too many to name, but you know who you are.
