Obituary - Barbara Ann Nielsen

Barbara Ann Nielsen was wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, full of love and faith.

Barbara was born in Havre, Montana, Aug. 21, 1935, to Joseph John Cech and Ava Leona Mapes. She has three sisters, Marcia (Tony) Malsam, Karen (Richard) Reich and Kathy (Michael) Belcourt.

Barbara grew up in a loving home in Havre and was part of the first graduating class of Havre Central High School. She was a cheerleader, loved to have fun and worked as a telephone operator. Dec. 22, 1956, she married George Nielsen. George and Barbara recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They had three children, Cyle (Hugo Aquino), Gayle (Joseph) Waner and Caryle, who passed away in 1996.

Barbara and George have given their lives to raising children. They have six living grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Justine, Jolie, Jodie and Joseph. They also have five great-grandchildren.

Barbara has touched many lives. She has especially touched the lives of everyone in her family. She stayed at home while she was raising children. She also worked at the IGA bakery, the Crescent and later, as a preschool educator at Spokane Montessori. She always poured out her life for others and had a deep love, especially for children.

Barbara went peacefully home to the Lord June 19, 2017. She was surrounded by her family at home. Barbara was preceded by her parents, her daughter Caryle, two unborn children, her sister Marcia, her brother-in-law Mike, and many other relatives and friends.
