Letter to the Editor - Festival Days Fun Run invitation

As our annual Festival Days weekend approaches, I would like to invite everyone out for our annual Festival Days Fun Run. This year’s run/walk is planned at the RC Model Flying Club located south on Fifth Avenue just before the ball park Sunday, Sept. 17.

Registration starts at noon with the run/walk to start at 1 p.m. We have a 1 mile and a 5K to choose from for a cost of $10 (without a shirt) and $25 (with a shirt). We have a lot of great prizes. All proceeds go toward the Havre High School Boys Cross Country team.

Here’s a little background on how the boy’s cross country became a Havre High School sport back in 2004. Boys cross country was allowed when girls’ softball was allowed. Both sports groups were required to get pledges for three years to cover their cost before we had final school board approval. Both the cross country and softball teams did that and became sports teams for Havre High School. Each year each sport team gets assessed by the HHS for the costs to be incurred and so each year we have the Festival Days Fun Run to help with those costs of boys running cross country.
