Counterfeit 20s spotted in Havre

The Havre Area Chamber of Commerce is warning people that counterfeit $20 bills are being circulated in the area.

The Chamber sent out a memo that they received a call from the Havre Police Department that the counterfeit bills, which do not have the required security bar, are being circulated.

The police dispatch log shows that someone from Independence Bank called police to report the fake bill Monday at 3:13 p.m.

No one from the police department was available to provide further information on the counterfeit money.
