United Way of Hill County kicked off its fundraising season Saturday with its annual crab boil, which Executive Director Andrea Smartt said was a great success.
The event's gross profit was $25,000 for United Way, up $3,000 from last year, Smartt said.
The night at Beaver Creek Golf Course started with a cocktail hour at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m.
Dinner was king crab legs, shrimp, kielbassa, corn and potatoes, served in large trays to be eaten with the diners' hands.
The fundraiser included a wine auction, raffles and live and silent auctions.
