Walkers remember missing, murdered indigenous women

Montana State University-Northern students, faculty and people from the Havre area gathered at the east entrance of the Student Union Building Friday night for a unity walk meant to raise awareness of missing and murdered indigenous women.

Before the walk began, Erica McKeon-Hanson, program director of the Little River Institute at Northern, told the crowd that the family of Charlene Long Time Sleeping Mancha, a member of the Blackfeet Tribe and mother of four who was murdered by her husband on New Year’s Eve, asked that she be mentioned.
