NorthWestern Energy wants powerless customers to call

Continuing to work to restore power

NorthWestern Energy is asking its customers who are still without power today to call the company.

“While we hope to restore power to many folks today, we want to make sure we are aware of the all the individual outages stretching from the Havre area east to Malta,” a release said. “Identifying all the outages will help us work as efficiently as possible to get service restored to all of our customers.”

The number customers should call is 1-888-467-2669.

NorthWestern Energy said it was able to restore several hundred more customers Wednesday night before its crews quit working not long before midnight.

In a release lat this morning, the company said it has about 1,100 customers still without power, with outages of varying sizes scattered from Havre to Dodson. The largest outages are in the Fort Belknap and Harlem areas.

“We have a number of crews working in that area today and we hope to make significant progress but can’t offer a solid estimate when service will be restored. Much of the this area is very rural with widely scattered customers. It is also an area where our system was heavily damaged in terms of poles on the ground or poles damaged.

“In the overall area between Havre and Dodson, we had more than 350 poles knocked to the ground and another 200 or so with enough damage that they need substantial repair to function properly,” the company said. “Making these repairs is our biggest challenge at this point.”
