Obituary - Robert Leroy Scofield

Robert Leroy Scofield, 80, of Havre, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at his residence. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at 2 p.m. in Highland Cemetery.

His family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line or to the Montana State University-Northern Rodeo Club.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jean (Pokorny); sons, Larry and Terry; daughter, Beth Ann (Matt) Doran; and grandson, David Doran, all of Havre; a sister, Pearl Sparks of Chester, South Carolina; a brother, Ronald (Peggy) Ray of Warrick/Big Sandy; and stepbrother Duane (Debbie) Scofield of Murrieta, California; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert was born in Helena, MT, Dec. 16, 1936, to Lloyd “Bozo” Scofield and Jessie (Schmid) Ray. He attended Warrick rural school and graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1955.

Robert was a rancher, accomplished meat cutter and licensed card dealer, could fix/repair just about everything and believed JB Weld was the best thing invented. He enjoyed working with horses, gardening, playing cards and in his earlier years, rodeoing and hunting. He liked country music, dancing and road trips.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Marlys Scofield; and stepbrother, George Scofield.
