Pizza Hut fundraiser set for student undergoing brain surgery

A Harlem High School junior is undergoing brain surgery in Denver today, and his family and friends have set up a Pizza Hut fundraiser Thursday to help pay for expenses.

Amy Murdoch said her nephew Desmond Shambo stays active despite having violent seizures due to right front lobal epilepsy.

“He plays football and basketball and he loves to hunt,” Murdoch said.

Bu the problem has gotten worse since Shambo was diagnosed when he was 11, she said. He has tried medication but nothing was working, which led to the surgery, she added.
