Power outage in Havre, NorthWestern says working to restore service

A power outage hit Havre today, just weeks after the early snowstorm knocked out service for thousands from Chester to Malta, but NorthWestern Energy spokesman Butch Larcombe said crews had found the reason — a problem with a substation east of Havre — and hoped to have power restored by about 12:30 this afternoon.

Larcombe said the outage knocked out service to about 1,900 customers, in the east side of Havre and east of town.

He said at 12:25 he did not know what was the exact cause of the outage, but crews were working to resolve the problem.
