Art association show and sale slated for this weekend

The Havre Art Association will host its 47th annual Art Show and Sale Saturday and Sunday at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church, where 19 Havre artists will display their artwork.

The featured artist will be Mary Fablgren from Glasgow, who will give a talk about her artwork.

Art gazers and appreciators can expect a new feature this year. Ginnie Streeper, co-chair of the Art Association, said panels will have prompts, different questions to spark conversation and a deeper look at the art.

The idea for the prompts, Streeper said, came from Kris Shaw, who brought it back to Havre after seeing it somewhere else.

Another first for the event, Streeper added, will be the memorial board, a platform which will remember and honor Havre artists who have died.

Kids are invited for the Kids Art Activity Saturday at 10:30 a.m., where an instructor will give an art lesson.

Show times are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Art at the show will feature work by Jessica Henderson, Kellie Kimball, Melissa Litzinger, Kristen Martens, Mary Nault, Linda Pollington, Becky Ross, Kris Shaw, Dale Shulund, Ginnie Streeper, Penny Strommen, Marie Toldness, Jack Van Koten, Linda Warneke, Bob Williams, Barbara Zuck and Beryl Arvin.
