Obituary - Anna Marie Gallus

Anna Marie Gallus of Chinook, 73, passed away Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Northern Montana Hospital with family by her side.

She was born Feb. 17, 1944, to William and Margaret (Goodbar) Hirter in Chinook, MT.

Anna Marie married Robert Gallus Feb. 20, 1965, and moved to Cut Bank, where Robert worked for Texaco in the oil field.

She and Robert moved to Sacramento, CA, in 1966. She went to work at a mortgage company and later joined the secretarial pool at the state capital working while Ronald Reagan was governor.

In the spring of 1971, she and Robert moved back to Chinook where she was employed as a legal secretary for years. She then went to work at the Blaine County Courthouse as a secretary for Judge Oehmke. She also served as a substitute judge when necessary. Anna Marie also did medical transcribing for Chinook Medical Center in her spare time.

She and her daughter raised and sold miniature horses all over the United States. She bought Star Video in 1996 and ran it until 2016.

Anna Marie is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter Michelle; son, Jason; sisters, Maxine Harrison of Chinook and Jolene Smith of Roy, MT; her grandchildren, Sterling and Jace Bemis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private family burial will be at Kuper Memorial Cemetery.
