MSU-N's Filius named Frontier Player of the Week

For the second time this season, a Montana State University-Northern player has earned Frontier Conference Women’s Player of the Week honors.

Northern junior guard Peyton Filius was named Frontier Player of the Week Monday. Filius, a former Havre Blue Pony standout, averaged 16 points, 3.7 rebounds, three assists and one steal. She was 16 of 35 from the field (46 percent), 12 of 22 3-point field goals (55 percent) and 4 of 4 from the free throw line as the Skylights beat Dickinson State Monday, Northwest University Saturday and San Diego Christian Sunday.

AT DSU, Filius buried four 3-pointers and scored a career-high 18 points. She added 12 points against Northwest in Great Falls, before hitting four more threes and scoring 18 points Sunday against the Hawks.

Ryan Reeves was nominated for the Men’s Player of the Week award.

Both the Skylights and the Lights are on the road this weekend. The MSU-N women travel to St. George, Utah for two games, while the Lights head to Oregon for three straight games.
