Jackets given to children on Rocky Boy

Press release

As winter weather arrives, the Chippewa Cree tribal leaders, tribal Roads, tribal Housing and Plain Green joined together to provide coats to students in the Head Start Program and Rocky Boy and Box Elder schools.

More than a thousand winter jackets were distributed between Nov. 20 through Nov. 22.

"The students' reaction to last year's winter jacket distribution was very positive, so we made sure to include the program for a second year," said Ian Windy Boy, chief operating officer of Plain Green. "The coats were chosen not only for their quality and warmth, but also because the styles and colors will be appealing to the students. Our goal is to provide comfort and protection against the harsh winter weather so that the students can focus on learning. We're honored to be able to support the children and community."

Sponsorship of this year's event included the Chippewa Cree Tribe's Roads and Housing departments and Plain Green LLC.
