More snow on way to Montana

Bitter cold weather takes hold of much of US

More snow and even colder weather is in the forecast for the rest of the week, with a winter storm warning in effect from tonight through Saturday and highs expected to be below zero and lows from minus 20 to the minus 30s in some areas over the weekend.

Winter weather has settled in over most of the country, with Montana no exception.

A winter storm warning is in effect from 6 tonight to 5 p.m Saturday across most of the state, with heavy snow expected Friday night and Saturday. Liberty County is predicted to see 10 to 15 inches of snow accumulation, with 7 to 12 inches predicted in northern Chouteau County and 5 to 10 inches predicted in Hill and Blaine counties.

From 10 inches to 2 feet accumulation is predicted in the Bear Paw Mountains.
