Obituary - Marilyn J. Doner

Marilyn J. Doner of Van Wert, Ohio, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:43 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born Nov. 30, 1942, in Havre, Montana, to the late Joseph R. & Bonnie J. (McGill) Bachini.

Sept. 9, 1966, she married Hans Peter Bartz and he preceded her in death March 28, 1999.

She later married John D. Doner of Van Wert, Ohio, Dec. 6, 2002, and he survives.

She is also survived by her children, Brian (Jennifer) Bartz of Plainfield, Illinois, Angela (Chad) Crosby of Payne, Ohio, and Stacy Youtsey of Middle Point, Ohio; stepsons, Greg Doner of Van Wert, Ohio, and Rod Doner of Vista, California; grandchildren, Derek and Jaden Youtsey, Sielle, Mylee and Braxton Bartz, Ethan, Emma, Evan and Ella Crosby, and Jordan (Justina) Doner, Jodie and Jared Doner; sisters, JoAnn Bates, Janice Bachini, Judy (Mickey) Geldard and Debbie Courtnage, all of Havre, Montana; and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn retired from Lincolnview Local Schools after 33 years of service. She was a faithful servant and devoted member of Trinity Friends Church, Van Wert, Ohio, and the Van Wert Y.W.C.A. Marilyn enjoyed walking and bowling with her friends, but most importantly she cherished her family - especially her grandchildren. No matter the activity, Marilyn was their #1 fan and dedicated supporter.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert with the Rev. Greg Rice officiating. Burial will follow at King Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.

Preferred memorials may be directed to Trinity Friends Church or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.
