Havre Elks Lodge No. 1201 Donates Money to Plant A Seed ... READ!

Havre Elks Lodge #1201 donated $1,500 Jan. 9 to the Plant A Seed ... READ! programs in Hill and Blaine Counties to assist in the early childhood development and education of area youth.

"Working with youth in the communities our lodge serves are one of the pillar's that the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has been focused on for the past one hundred fifty years," Lodge #1201 Exalted Ruler Kyle Leeds said. "Our lodge is pleased to present this money to Plant a Seed ... READ! to assist them helping sixty students deserving students in Hill and Blaine counties start their education at a crucial early age."

Leeds said the donation to Plant a Seed ... READ! from Havre Elks Lodge #1201 came from a grant. 

"We are celebrating 150 years as a fraternal organization in 2018," Leeds said. "The Elks National Foundation in celebration of our 150th anniversary, offered every lodge across the country, the opportunity to apply for a $1,500 onetime anniversary grant for a youth or community based project."

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is celebration its 150th birthday in 2018 and is the premiere charitable and patriotic organization in the nation.  The Elks works to assist veterans, youth and communities where lodges are located.  Locally, Havre Lodge #1201 has 196 members and is always looking for new members.  People can find our more about the local Havre Lodge by calling Leeds at 945-2524.
