Obituary - James "Ed" Weatherly

James "Ed" Weatherly of Great Falls, 81, passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 at Peace Hospice.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Big Sky Baptist Church in Great Falls. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Havre at a later date.

Ed was born Nov. 21, 1936, in Weatherly Hall County, Texas, to Chester and Mattie Weatherly. Ed and his wife, Maureen, made their home in Havre, Montana, where he was a lease operator at Devon Energy. After his retirement, they moved to Great Falls.

Ed was a faithful Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed following the Voyager's baseball team. He and Maureen were active members of Big Sky Baptist Church.

Ed is survived by his wife of 34 years, Maureen; daughters Sherry (Tim) Snelson, Kelly Harris, Keri Howie and Karlene Howie; son Kevin (Rachelle) Howie; brothers Lee Roy (JoElla) Weatherly and Bob (Reva) Weatherly; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Colleen Beauchamp and Wiladeen Weatherly; daughter Darla Chagnon; son Jamie Weatherly; brother Jerry Weatherly; and grandson Ryder Howie.
