Development group working on rebuilding in Harlem Buttrey location

The general manager of Island Mountain Development Group said the collapse of the former Buttrey’s building in Harlem has solved one question for the development company, whether to keep the historic building and refurbish it to house new stores or to tear it down and build new.

“With the collapse, it’s kind of decided,” Terry Brockie said this morning.

Brockie said the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation-based development group has owned the building that collapsed Saturday, likely due to an accumulation of snow on its roof, for several years.
