Havre just short of record snow for year

An inch more will set record, more snow expected later in week


Snow fell over the weekend, fairly heavily at times, and left Havre just short of setting a new record for winter snowfall.

But the weather forecasters say that, despite a warming trend, a storm later in the week could hit and that could set the new record.

Havre — named by Weather Channel as the city with the worst winter this year in the country — has seen 92.5 inches of snow since July 1, starting with a record-setting blizzard Oct. 2-3 that dropped more than a foot of wet, heavy snow, followed by wintry December and January and a record-setting month in February.
