Letter to the Editor - Thank you for Stamp Out Hunger

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Havre Community Food Bank and the individuals we serve, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Havre Postal Workers for sponsoring the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive this past Saturday, May 12. Over 2,600 pounds of food was collected and delivered to the Havre Community Food Bank thanks to the efforts of our local postal workers. This is 500 more pounds of food than was collected in 2017.

I would like to thank everyone who volunteered their valuable time to this event, especially the family members of the postal workers who transported food from the carriers to District 4 HRDC for sorting. I would also like to extend a thank-you to those members of our community who so graciously donated food items.

Once again, the community of Havre has shown their generosity and support for District 4 HRDC’s Havre Community Food Bank. The food collected will help us serve individuals and families in need.

If you would like to make a food donation, please contact the Havre Community Food Bank at 265-2007 or deliver them to 453 Fifth St. N. Havre, MT 59501. There is staff present to receive donations Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Food and monetary donations may also be left at District 4 HRDC located at 2229 Fifth Ave.

Once again, I would like to thank the community of Havre and the Havre postal workers for their help and support of this much-needed program.

Samantha Nimmick

Havre Community Food Bank manager
