Plant a Seed … Read! fundraiser sets $1,500 grand prize

Nonprofit organization hopes to educate and encourage reading aloud to young children

Plant a Seed … Read! is selling tickets for its fundraising raffle from now until it holds the drawing June 27.

Plant a Seed … Read! which is a nonprofit organization that hopes to encourage and educate people about the importance of reading aloud to children aged birth to 5, will use this fundraiser to raise money for developing literacy activities for communities, families and child care providers; provide opportunities for volunteers; and to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for north-central Montana, which is a program that chooses and sends age-appropriate books, but does not pay for the books.

Four hundred tickets will be sold for the raffle and the drawing will be held at Triple Dog Brewing Co. Pint Night, with food from the Streatery, and the tickets will be drawn from 4 to 8 p.m.

Each of the 400 tickets will be drawn and specific tickets will win money, with the grand prize being $1,500 cash.

The 20th, 40th, 60th, 80th, 120th, 140th, 160th, 180th, 220th, 240th, 260th, 280th, 320th, 340th, 360th and 380th will win $50 each.

The First, 50th, 100th, 150th, 200th, 250th, 300th and 350th tickets drawn will win $100 each.

The 398th ticket drawn will win $250, the 399th will win $500 and the 400th ticket will win the $1,500 grand prize.

This is the first year the organization is holding a fundraiser like this, and people must be 18 years old to purchase. People do not need to be present to win.
