Obituary - Carol Fullerton

May 9, 2018, at home with her family by her side, Carol Fullerton of Big Fork, Mt., passed away from cholangiocarcinoma.

She was born to Rex and Erma Gulick of Joplin, Montana, April 21, 1957, in Chester, Montana. Carol graduated from Joplin High School in 1975 and attended Great Falls Business College.

She met her husband, Nick, while working for the state of Montana in Helena. Carol had all the qualities Nick was looking for. She was a hard worker. She was responsible. She was a problem solver. If you had a question, she had the answer. She was dynamite in a small package and quite attractive. They were married Nov. 13, 1982.

She was business-minded and worked with her husband, Nick Fullerton, in their family architectural business that they started in Helena in 1982. The business has continued as Fullerton Architects, which is co-located in Montana and California. She devoted much of her time to this operation and family life.

Carol always took on the biggest projects. She stained unfinished tile laid in their Bozeman home, which was her pride and joy since she used a combination of stains suggested by Homer Formby himself. She stained every exterior board for their Big Fork homes as to get just the right color. She sewed window blinds for their homes to get that perfect creative look as well as making gifts for family. She did all her own yard work, even laying down parts of drip systems for their landscaping. She know how everything worked in their homes that they designed and built and kept everything in working order.

In their company, she kept their construction crew on track and did the ordering for building materials and interior accessories. Years later, they dropped the construction crew and focused on their architectural business. Carol and Nick were not only in the design work but made sure that a house was move-in ready right down to putting the sheets on the beds, decorating for the holidays and planning itineraries for an easy move-in for the new owners.

July 4, 2016, was a special day for Carol where families and friends gathered to attend the wedding of her son, Tyler, and Eileen Connors. Carol tackled a last-minute alteration project on all of the pants for the groom, the best man and the groomsmen so that they could fit suspenders to complete their attire. Then, to end the evening, she danced the night away. She always said that this wedding was the best she had ever gone to. It is pretty hard to beat an outdoor wedding in Bozeman, Montana.

Carol loved her busy life and she will be missed by so many friends and family.

Carol is survived by her husband, Nick Fullerton, and their son, Tyler (Eileen) Fullerton; her mother, Erma Gulick of Fairfield, Montana; her sisters, Karen (Mike) Johnson and Lois (Bill) Meehan; brothers Steve (Victoria) Gulick and Dave (Sherrie) Gulick and sister-in-law Donna Gulick, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Rex Gulick, and her brother Marvin.

Her family wishes to thank all of her caregivers for their compassion and comfort including her doctors and nurses in Kalispell, Mt.

No funeral plans are scheduled at this time.
