Montana senior linebacker Josh Buss was named the Big Sky Conference Preseason Defensive MVP at the 2018 Big Sky Kickoff media Event Monday in Spokane. Buss was a 2017 FCS All-American, and is the leading returning tackler in the Big Sky Conference. Buss' Montana Grizzlies were picked fourth and seventh in the Big Sky Preseason Coaches and Media Polls, while the Montana State Bobcats are picked to finish eighth in both polls. The Bobcats open their season Aug. 30, while the Griz begin their season Sept. 1.
