Hello God It's me, Mara

God's song at night

You know, Lord, it's summertime! There is "music" in the air, be it morning, noon or night; if we listen, we can hear Your song. You direct Your love toward us through family, friends, scenery, to name only a few ways.

Your love for us through songs, reminds us of several young chaps who have a real talent for singing and playing instruments. Not every musician plays more than one instrument as most are usually gifted and brilliant on only one or two instruments.

That's family and friends, but You, Lord, have created all animals with noise or a hum. At night, occasionally we hear the rich orchestration of insect life so fascinating it seems amplified. It's pleasant to wake to the morning calls of the robins, doves, meadowlarks, just to name a few of the birds who live in our neighborhood. A friend shared about their peacock's voices. Most folks know that dogs have a special way of communicating a host of things that their owners need to pay attention to. Dogs can also "sing" - we've seen and heard that specialty, too.

Do clouds sing? Or maybe it's just the wind. Rivers and still water ponds can make sounds. Trees and plants also have special sounds. Praising Your name in the stillness as we take a walk in our city or in the country, helps us to hear sounds.

At the end of our day, there You are Lord. When we take time to quiet our hearts and focus on You, Lord, we give You thanks and praise for helping us make the right decisions as we touch others, working through/with Your love for us. We delight in Psalm 42:8 (NIV), "By day the Lord directs His love, at night His song is with me - a prayer to the God of my Life."

Love, Mara
